hi i have a amd fx 8350 dose this cpu automatically reduce the clock speed when the computer is idle, my cpu is constantly at 4113.7mhz

its in power settings. If your on high performance, which most are, the min and max cpu is at 100% and 100%. Which means that no matter what the cpu is at 100%. If you don't want this, either change the plan to like balanced, or go to the cpu part and change minimum to like 10% or 50% or something.

thanks for the reply ive been through the power options in windows and the bios and couldnt get it to reduce the speed and my idle temp with a water cooler was 36oc so i cleared my cmos and reinstalled windows and all is good now, sitting at 1.2ghz and 29oc
