I'm a gamer, and I don't like the start times on my computer, or long loading times for games. I found this SSD...

But it seems really cheap for the space and write times... is this a good SSD and is the upgrade worth it? I play all kinds of games ranging from battlefield, to games like league of legends. I also do graphics design. If I bought this SSD I would want to put my OS on it, Photoshop CS6, and a couple of games. Would the upgrade be worth it? Also, if I were to move my OS over to this would the programs stay on my main hard drive?

The link just takes us to the Newegg homepage. Yes, an SSD would certainly be a nice upgrade to your system. If you have a lot of games, you'll want to get an SSD with enough space to install them all, plus your other programs, unless you'll be using multiple drives in your system.

Link not working

Here's the results of testing on a common desktop box using alternate boots to each device

Boot Time w/ top tier SSD = 15.6 seconds
Boot Time w/ SSHD = 16.5 seconds
Boot time w/ tier 2 HD * = 21.2 seconds

* 18th place on this chart

We also have an SSD + HD on a laptop and an identical one with SSHD ..... no one can tell them apart (CAD usage mostly)

If your system is older.... your start times are likely the result of registry bloat more than anything else.

Oh, I also have the MMO I play on both SSD and HD .... it takes 45.5 seconds to get "into game" in both instances. Time is bottlenecked by handshaking w/ server I presume more than storage system as there should be a difference. of course a 3 year old fragged HD is quite capable of slowing things down too.

That being said if you doing big edits in Photoshop or editing movies, rendering etc. and do the manipulations on ya SSD, then you can see some significant impacts.
