Intake refers to the fans attached to your case thatmove air from the outside to the inside. Exhaust refers to fans attached to your case that draw air from inside and move it out. A CPU coolerfan refers to the fan mounted to a heatsink of some sort and either draws air through the heatsink fins, or pushes air through the heatsink fins. The only time a CPU cooler fan could be considered exhaust would be in some brand named PC's the CPU cooler fan is encased in a plastic tunnel like shroud, drawing air through the heatsink then pushing that air up the shroud and out, an exhaust. My old Dell 8400 had a setup like this. This is, of course just for air cooled CPUs, water cooled are somewhat different, but act on the same principle.
