Hi, I am building a computer meant for gaming and some video editing. My budget is 800€. So right now I am planning to buy a MSI H87-G43 Gaming, it costs about 95€. I have a couple questions to ask:

1. Is it worth over the MSI H87-G43?
2. Can you give me an advice of something better for the same price? I can only choose between Asrock, Asus and MSI. Socket 1150 of course.

Thanks.

what cpu and ram do you have? this should be a great mobo for you http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97pcma... and if you dont have a K cpu selected, you can afford one because this mobo is under your budget, and is a Z97 chipset, so you can overclock on it.

I will probably buy an i5-4670 or an i5-4670K. I will also buy 1x8GB Kingston HyperX Fury (I will buy the second stick in the future.)

EDIT: Is it good? I'm kind of afraid of not getting a decent motherboard.

ok, but i recommend you get either the i5 4690/K/ because it hardly costs more, but overclocks much better and runs much cooler. yes, the board i posted is fine.

The i5-4690K costs 40€ more than the i5-4670 in Portugal. The motherboard you suggested isn't available in the website I am going to buy the components. Here's the list if you want to take a look (it's in portuguese but the name of the components is the same)

The Asrock Z97 PRO4 is sold out. But the Z97 PRO3 is not.
The MSI Z97-G55 SLI is 120€ compared to the 95€ of the the Asrock Z97 Pro3.

Can you explain me what is the difference between the Z97 and the Z97M (and every other chipset with the "M" after).

the M means it is a micro-atx size, just a smaller board, only difference.

Buy your ram as a single unit, either 2x4Gb and settle for a total of 8Gb, or 2x8Gb for a total of 16Gb. Mixing ram sets is never a good idea unlessyou are a RAM guru if sorts. Different sets if RAM invariably end up from different batches of silicon, so while primary and maybe the secondary timings are the same, the tertiary timings will be different, and this can cause all sorts of headaches like bluescreens, sudden shutdowns under load etc.

If you plan on a 'k' CPU, plan on a 'Z' board, if a non-'k' then a 'H' board will be just fine. Just match up the correct family. Don't put a Haswell redo on a 87, you'll need a 97, etc.

Ok, if it fits the case then no problem.

Is the Asrock Z97 PRO3 worth it?
I also have the MSI Z87-G43 available.

I will buy the same model of RAM, only not now. I guess it doesn't harm, I guess. :/  It's like buying a 2x8GB but seperately. Is it bad?

I'm not quite sure if I want a K or not. And I don't plan on having the 4690 or 4690K so I guess I don't need the 97.

if you buy the 2 sticks separate, but they are identical, it will most likely work. also, if you get the i5 4670, you can settle with a h87 or h97 board. if you get the i5 4670K, then go for a Z87 or Z97 board.

This overclocking question is really annoying because I have no idea if I want to do it or not, or even if I need it. Does it make a huge difference? I plan to play 1080p games, the GPU is R9 270X, and some video editing, mostly 720p.

The i5-4670K costs 17€ more than the i5-4670. So if I want the overclock on the CPU, I need the Z87 motherboard because it's not Haswell Refresh. I have the following:

Asrock Z87 PRO3 - 83,90€ (sold out)
MSI Z87-G43 - 88,60€
MSI Z87M-G43 - 88,90€
Asrock Z87M PRO4 - 88,90€
Asrock Z97 PRO3 - 94,80€
Asrock Z87 PRO4 - 97,80€

The rest is too expensive. Can you tell me what is the difference between MSI Gaming and normal MSI boards?

I guess 2€ won't make a difference.

But the CPU will, is there any component I can save a little bit?

this 270x is just as good, but a little cheaper, atleast, in the usa it is http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9270xcdfc

It's not available here unfortunately. Not living in a big country is hard when getting these stuff I guess.

The Powercolor TurboDuo R9 270X. I don't know if it's good, 9€ cheaper.

Ok, I'll consider it then, thanks so much for your help and quick answers.
And I'll probably go for the Asrock Z87 PRO4 aswell.

Ram is a gamble. If you buy it in the same set, it'll all play nice. If you buy identical sticks, it will probably be ok, same size and timings but differing brands may work, different timings/brand..... Good luck. If you buy 1 stick now and one stick later and it doesn't work, you are stuck. It's a gamble to mix.

I actually think the same way, but right now I don't have the money to go for 16GB, and I do want to reach the max capacity the motherboard allows (which is 32GB). I can only do that with 4x8GB. And I don't want to sell RAM and replace with new sticks. It's a risk I'm taking, and I know that, but I need to risk in this case.~

Same timings, same brand, same everything just in separate.
