can i use a desktop cpu on my msi gt70

im looking to upgrade my laptops cpu, and i found a really good deal on the Intel Core i7-4770S @ 3.10GHz, however i dont know if my laptop can use it, can someone please explain and if it doesnt work is there any equivalent of this for laptop

Check the cpu socket on your laptop. If it's the same as the one from your desktop (LGA1150), then you have a starting point.

Laptop cpu's are low power so the battery time is decent.

i dont have a desktop, im looking to buy a new one, and my laptop has a intel core i7 4700mq

Long answer: No. A desktop socket is different than a mobile socket.
