Dear Community, I am interested in upgrading to a dual monitor setup and have a couple of questions. But first here is the main components of my current rig.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo)
MOBO: MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming
GPU: GIGABYTE GV-N660OC-2GD GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-Bit GDDR5
Monitor: Acer H274HLBMID Black 27" 5ms Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor

Considering I am unable to buy an additional same-model display I am currently using (I HAVE to have 2 same-model displays - Would sell my current to a family member for ~$100) I am looking to purchase two new monitors of the same model. I am currently using a 1920 x 1080 display but part of me is wanting to purchase the two new monitors at a 2560 x 1440 resolution.

Do you think it is worth spending the additional ($300?) on getting two 2560 x 1440 as opposed to two 1920 x 1080 displays?
Will my current rig even support two 2560 x 1440 displays?
I am going overboard, is two 27 inch displays too much for the eyes?
Do I even know what I am talking about?

Here are the monitors I guess I was considering but were kind of first picks on Newegg and aren't set in stone.

1920 x 1080: Acer G6 Series G276HLGbd Black 27" - $199.99
2560 x 1440: 27" QNIX QX2710 2560x1440 QHD PLS Matte Panel Monitor - $343.99

Let me know what you all think!

Solution
is you set your games to be played in 1080P resolution, then a GTX 660 is perfectly fine. So yeah you could do this. in games option set video to be in 1080P if you experience any lag.

@pierrerock You're talking about 1440P gaming on a single monitor?

Thank you for the replies. I do game on this computer but I would say not nearly as much as I multitask with applications. I don't have an issue playing games not at the highest of graphical settings. That change anything? What would you recommend?
