I do not wish to overclock no matter what on this PC build and i got an AsRock H97M Pro4 and i was wondering, are the H97 and Z97 the only motherboards that support Haswell without needed updating and a BIOS flash update?
They support Haswell refresh chips without a bios update. As for the motherboard, it's still feature dependent. If you want SLI/Crossfire, then z97 would be better suited I'd imagine. If you just need one to do what you want it to do any h97 board would do.

Do you really think so Black bird? You have no idea how long i have been thinking oh what Motherboard to get. I know once you said Asuse was a great brand. You really do not think the MSI would be good? I just do not want to go over $120-$130. I mainly want one with an Optical Audio out so i can use my Dolby Digital Samsung 5.1 Surround Sound on it, which i do not even know how to know if a Motherboard will support 5.1 Dolby Digital. The ASUS H97-PLUS i heard was good but it has no Optical out. So you really think the AsRock H97M will be a good one? My GPU is an MSI R9 280 also.
I don't trust MSI QC , I love ASUS , but that Rock is nice.
Well i never really heard of AsRock and i guess that`s why i kinda wanted others opinions on it. So the AsRock H97M would be the one you would pick out of the ones listed or is there any other ones out there in the H97 series you would pick over it? Should i go with an ASUSE than or stick with the AsRock?
