My CPU came in today, it is the Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell and i do not want to overclock anything so i guess that would make it pointless buying a Z97 model so i should stay with the H97 models right? So far i do not want to spend more than $120 on a new motherboard. I have found 3 that i really love so far and i will link them below. Oh and my GPU is a MSI R9 280 (the non x version) and my PSU is an XFX TS 550W Haswell support. Also the Motherboard need to have one Optical Audio Out. Id really not prefer to get an Micro or Mini ATX but i guess it doesnt matter as long as it is good quality :D

I'd go w/ the Rock mobo, won't touch MSI for builds (poor QC), the GB would be second choice

I've actually heard the opposite in recent years. I've done 3 builds with MSI motherboards and they've all been perfect, done one with an ASRock board and it works fine too. I'd highly recommend that MSI H97 Gaming 3, I have the Z97 Gaming 3 and it's been great so far.

Haha. It's highly unlikely that he would have problems with it, and if he did all it would take is a quick RMA. I just think it's a great board because it has optical audio, really good onboard sound, the BIOS is nice and user friendly and the PCB looks really nice ;)  I don't want to discredit what you said, but I've heard from a lot of places that new MSI boards with 'military class components' have the lowest RMA rate of any of the top brands right now. Who knows if that was actually correct though. I just think it's a possibly for any board to fail but it's highly unlikely. :)

MSI has been advertising the "military class components" going back a few years now...their sales started slipping around 20078 and hae continued to, the Rock passed them in total sales back about late 2009 early 2010 and have continued to outpace them in the number 3 sales spot....They have picked up a little since renaming a couple lines of mobos as 'gaming' and copying the red/black scheme that Asus has used for years in their ROG line of mobos, but the forums are still full of a large variety of failures and I know on a personal note, that of the trouble calls I get on rigs, there's more MSI mobos that any 2 other manufacturers put together, and I don't even build on their mobos. For me (and the others builders and IT folks I network with) it's just not a good idea....you don't make a lot for a build and if there is anything that goes wrong, it costs more than what was made for the build to rectify the problem

Thanks to both of you guys, much appreciates. I have decided to go with the GIGABYTE GA-H97-Gaming 3 Motherboard because itt has an Optical audio, it is an ATX insted of a Micro ATX, and it has more reliable history than MSI Motherboards. In my openion Asus is by far the best but tooooooo dang epensive i tell you what.

No problem, :)
hahah, I agree about the price of the Asus boards. I really wanted a ROG board but couldn't afford it. I can now though but I'm stuck with what I got :p
Gigabyte boards are nice and reliable, you'll be happy with it. :)

Yea i am so sick of being stuck with consoles, they are slow, crappy, and pricey. I am tired of 6-7 minute loading screens on Skyrim every time i go ANYWHERE. I want the freedom PC gives, i dont want to get in argument of which console is, i want to be able to KILL the argument with PC which beats all. :D  And its actually me and my GF that is building this PC, me and her think that PC will save money in the long run.

:)  it definitely will save you money in the long run. Steam has a lot of great game sales and even games that aren't on sale are still cheaper than what they would be on consoles. Keyboard + mouse is also so much better, and the graphics. The reasons PCs are better are endless. You made a good decision :D  enjoy your build.
