Graphics Card Issue

I connected my monitor to the displayport on my graphics card. The monitor does'nt show anything.

My monitor has VGA and HDMI while my graphics card has 2 DVI ports, 1 HDMI and 1 Dispalyport.

I used VGA (from my monitor) to VGA with Display port adapter (VGA female to Display port male) to connect my monitor to my graphics card. I only get a black screen.

I wanted to try 3 monitor setup. Any monitor that is connected to the display port displays a black screen.

Some (or most/all?) video cards state that for multiple monitors, you go with the 2 DVI and a HDMI, then the DisplayPort becomes an accessory monitor. By that, you have the DVI and HDMI in 3-way while the DisplayPort will show a separate screen not shared with the others.

But I thought when I want a 3 monitor setup, I have to use the display port and 2 DVI ports? Yesterday I tried using the HDMI and 2 DVI ports leaving the dislayport open. Ended up with 1 screen black.

I was testing out the displayport when I connected 1 monitor to it. Just 1 monitor. Still gave me a black screen.

I want to have 3 different screens. Like when I go to screen resoultion option in windows. I want to see 1,2 and 3 there. I used 2 DVI's which I didn't find any problem. But when I connect another monitor in HDMI or DisplayPort. It ends up on a black screen. I can't even have an accessory monitor because I can't have a 3 screen setup. :((

Sorry the HDMI port is working. I just had the monitor turned off, so I thought is wasnt working.

So HDMI port working on 1 monitor. DisplayPort not.

My monitor has VGA and HDMI. I used VGA (from monitor) to VGA with DisplayPort adapter to connect to my PC.

OK so let me put this together.

When you plug in just that monitor with HDMI it works, but when you have the two DVI monitors AND the HDMI all plugged in, then the HDMI monitor doesn't work?
Then the DisplayPort just doesn't work at all.

Chances are the VGA to DisplayPort adapter is faulty, no idea why the HDMI won't play nice with the two DVIs.

Yeap. All correct.

Maybe it is. But it should go along with the 2 DVI's right?
