Will a MSI Radeon HD 6970 work with a ASUS M4A785-M, In my Rosewell Destroyer case the card barely has room to seat. I am getting no video, because of the seating issue I believe. Is the card not compatible with my mobo?

I tested with another video card and everything boots fine (inside the case). I am so cramped with space in this case, all my power cables etc. are running underneath the 6970 when I have it installed. I had to remove the lock tab on the PCI X16 due to the cards size. Will videocard fans power on even if the card is not seated correctly? I'm starting to wonder if the videocard is indeed faulty or since i removed the tab, will it not seat properly.

so first thing to try is install the card you know works, then go into the bios and update it if there is an update, if that doesn't work try running the system without the side panel on, and if THAT doesn't work rma the card.
