Hello everyone, my cousin is looking for a good gaming laptop around 1000 dollars or so, he doesn't want a pc because he wantjs to use it for med school as well. Problem is, I only know about good pc components and not too much about laptop components, I think I read about some gaming laptop breakthrough (by asus maybe?) a couple of months ago? Anyways, if anyone knows about any good gaming laptops around the 1000-1100 dollars budget then I would greatly appreciate it.

Basically, an 850m (or maybe an 860m) will give you pretty much the same performance as the sli solution. But at 40-50w draw. So half the power consumption, no sli rendering issues or powersave problems while not running 3d applications, and likely a lighter and slimmer laptop with less noise and cooling problems.

On the other hand, SLI sounds really impressive. But don't go for SLI unless it has better performance than a single card at the same budget..

It feels as if you're making a stronger case for the 850/860 than the 750's :p But you do recommend the Ideapad?
