ok, I just built a new pc, but using my old hdd which had 32 bit windows 8. My new system is an i5 4690k with asus z97 , which is 64 bit .

My graphic card (sapphire r9 270x) is shown as Microsoft basic display adapter .I googled it and learnt that windows installs its basic display driver when none other are installed. I tried installing the catalyst software from the driver disk but my windows crashes into blue screen everytime i try.
Does the system crash because the drivers given are incompatible with 32-bit windows .i will be installing windows 8 64-bit soon, will that solve the problem .

ps : I dont really have the bandwidth to download the driver from their website :(

pss : i broke my keyboard ,so can't enter bios till my order is delivered :na:

Yup, I guess that the drivers on CD are 64 bit only. Anyway, they are outdated most likely so when you get that 64 bit system you should download them manually from AMD website anyway.

You cannot install 64bit drivers on 32-bit Windows, or vice versa. Windows won't even allow this, unless you force the installation manually, which will undoubtly result in issues. And you should also get the latest drivers for the card.
