Clone hdd with programs to second ssd

Hi, I have a ssd with the os and a few programs on it, I also have an hdd with more programs on it.

What I would like to do is clone the hdd with programs to a second ssd.

Is it just a matter of cloning the hdd to ssd, removing the hdd and changing the new ssd drive letter to the old hdd drive letter or is there more to it than that

pretty much it. the cloning software ive used clones everything including the drive letter/name etc. so once its finished and power down, remove the old drive and boot up with the new drive in place.

when that's done can I just put the hdd back in and format it
