So i have a problem, using windows 8 . I have to hassle with the sound which i want to be easier. Problem is I am using a pc that has speakers plugged in it , and I have an hdmi cable going to my samsung tv which i use as my extended display. So what i want is , when I launch say firefox on the TV screen , and i boot something like counter-strike on my pc screen. I want that the TV would play like youtube videos , and my pc would play counter strike sound separately.

The only way i can achieve this as of now is this.

STEP1. I go to the sounds tab , change my defaut sound device to HDMI.
STEP2. Launch firefox , launch youtube video. Sound is playing from my TV. (GOOD)
STEP3. go to sounds tab, switch back to pc speakers as default device (both hdmi and speakers are enabled BTW)
STEP4. The sound is still playing on my TV , Launch for example counter-strike. Sound is coming from my speakers.

This way it works. Problem is if i switch pages or turn off firefox and the turn it back on , i have to go through the whole steps of making the tv default launching it again so on and so on.

Is there any way to make this process easier?

There is a separate Windows 8 forum in here where it might be easier to get an answer. I would hazard a guess though that since applications can be dragged form one monitor to another, there is no build-in mechanism in Windows to associate one monitor with one sound output. I go through a similar hassle on Windows 7 when I want to play certain applications (Netflix) on my TV, so I certainly think this seems like a good idea and I'm going to follow this in the hope I'm wrong and there is in fact a way to set this up on a permanent basis.
