hi. I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my pc, after which it shows only 3 resolution options, 1280X1024 1024X768 800X600. Before reinstalling windows , my display had the perfect resolution(a higher one i guess), but now it shows only 3 options which do not display things properly. suggestions please, thanks .

Have you tried clicking the "detect display" in the video properties? The device manager should show the correct monitor. If it simply says "generic PNP monitor" or something to that effect, then windows won't know the full capablilities of the monitor.

Sorry, I guess i should have been more specific. Did you build this or was it a big box store computer - Dell, HP, Gateway,...? If you purchased it, go to the manufacturer's web site and download the necessary drivers. If you built it, go to the motherboard manufactuer's web site and download the drivers. If you can't find drivers there, check the CD's that came with your motherboard or computer. It should also have drivers although may may not be the most recent drivers.

Also, if you haven't installed your chipset drivers yet, do so.
