hello i have a gt640 gainward 1gb gpu i want to overclock it because i get abit of lag while playing and streaming dayz at the sametime i was wondering what would be the best mhz to overclock the memory and core? and i wouldnt damage it

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but when a GPU becomes too weak to play games the way you like it, overclocking is usually not enough, and it is a good sign you need new hardware. There is no "safe" overclocking, since every card is different; the safest route you can go is not to increase voltage at all - voltage will kill your card faster than anything else. Apart from that, the only thing you can do is experiment. However, bear in mind that your GPU is very weak by today's standards, especially for gaming.

Simply bump the core and memory clock up by 5 then do a stress test to ensure its stable. Repeat until you find your card isn't stable anymore and then turn it back to the last stable setting.
