i have dell's inspiron 530s desktop
with nvidia GT Geforce 610 2GB DDR3 and
DDR2 RAM (2x1gb)2gb ram

before new ram spec http://lookpic.com/O/i2/1089/kmVhqT3t.png
http://www.dell.com/us/dfh/p/inspiron-530s/pd

so i purchased new (2gbx2)4gb ram
i installed them with old (i.e i have 6gb ram installed)
1st my pc didn't start it keep on beeping so i replaced the slots of ram
then it didn't boot up
now its freezing every time when i start it up at dell's logo
when
i replace ram slots by (2x1gb)2gb it starts up
and
when put (2gbx2)4gb it starts up

but not with 6gb ram keeps on freezing at dell's logo

now what should i do to start my pc with (2gbx2&1gbx2)6gb ram

Could link us the RAM? My first guess is that the RAM you purchased is a different voltage, frequency, or latency than the RAM you're trying to add to.

My suggestion: Sell the old RAM, or give it to someone in need. Just use the new RAM. Your version of Windows (32-bit) only supports 3.5 GB of RAM anyhow, so 6 is unnecessary for you.

so there is no solution other then this i wanted to use windows 64bit after installing 6gb ram
it has same voltage, speed and i think latency is also same

Often, RAM doesn't like to play nicely with other RAM sets. Before shipping RAM out, the manufacturers test the paired sticks to ensure they work well. Putting in additional RAM is often hit, but still seldom miss. Could we get the brand names on the RAM? Any specs on the white labels?

Excellent information you posted about the 2gb. Could you remove the 2gb, put int the 4gb, and send us the same information? That'd be great for ensuring compatibility

Sorry for the long delay in response,

So to sum up the troubleshooting thus far,
-Both sets installed will not work
-The 1x1 set will work, without the 2x2
-The 2x2 set will work, without the 1x1

Right?
