I built a new system and everything was fine for the first 2 weeks. Then I purchased an ASUS GTX 780 GPU and I've been experiencing inexplicable crashes (screen freezes, no mouse input, sound derps requiring a restart). It will happen completely at random times (from youtube viewing, to heavy duty rendering). I can go days without a crash, or the crashes can happen repeatedly as little as a few minutes apart. Temps are fine.. CPU never goes about 40 degrees and GPU never goes about 50. Reseated the card several times, plugged in power cables several times.

I'm at a loss. I've tried three different drivers for the GPU. Any ideas?

System Specs:
CPU: FX-8350
Mobo: Asus M5a97
Ram: 8GB
GPU: asus gtx 780 directcu ii
Power: Corsair CX750
Cooling(cpu): Corsair H100i
Two 140mm case fans pulling in the front and a 120mm pushing out the back

What is the make and model of your PSU? That is my 1st guess.
edit- I see it now, I would suspect the CX model psu is the culprit. Could you possibly try the gpu in a friend or family members pc that has a more reputable psu and see if that resolves it? I would suggest upgrading that psu regardless, it is of fair/average quality and you are trying to run a flagship gpu on it. Seems a tad risky overall.
