Hi,
A couple months ago i bought a 4K monitor. The Samsung U28D590. I have it attached to an AMD R9290X with the provided DisplayPort 1.2 cable. I run the screen at 3840x2160 @60hz. Which results in a transfer speed trough the DisplayPort cable of approx 17.3Gb/s. The provides Samsung cable barely manages this and sometime shows some packet loss even though its only 1.20m.
I have tried a DP 1.2 cable from StarTech.com (which only had a bandwith of 8.6 Gb/s) and a DeLock Premium 90cm cable (which shouldve had 17.3 Gb/s bandwidth but only managed 11.2 Gb/s). Both cables, even though advertised they were capable of supporting 4k @60Hz, were not capable of this feat. This resulted in much much more packet loss and more than half of all frames being black.
Does anyone know a good Displayport cable that would meet my requirements? There is a list of DP cables on the website of DisplayPort that they approve of, one of which i tested and it was not sufficient.
Thanks in advance,
Morris
