I am trying to set up dual monitors, i have 1 vga monitor going to the vga on the AMD HD Radeon 7750 graphics card and that works fine. The other monitor is dvi connected to the dvi on the graphics card. the dvi monitor however doesn't maintain a signal. When i start my pc the windows starting up screen appears on it but after this it goes black with the monitors power indicator blinking as if its in sleep mode. How can i get it working? thanks

If it is what I think it is, this usually happens when you start to have more than 1 monitor with a single GPU. It doesnt know that you want both on.

Does the DVI port functional when connected by itself?
If the answer is yes (which is likely)

If you have Win7, did you try Right Clicking your desktop and go to Screen Resolution and see a 2nd monitor option available? If so, click on inactive monitor to enable it. You should be able to do this through your AMD settings or through Windows, either way, its the same thing.

If you do not see the second monitor, please retry my first suggestion and ensure the DVI port works by itself, then reconnect both monitors then go into your AMD settings and enable the Multiple Monitors functions there.

Please let us know if this solved your issue. (Hopefully it does) :)

copied this from another thread:

"The first thing to do is to check that your HD 7750 supports Eyefinity. Most do, but there could be a small chance are a few HD 7750s that do not support Eyefinity.

If your HD 7750 does indeed support Eyefinity then that means you your GPU also has a DisplayPort. In order to use Eyefinity you must use the DisplayPort. Connections for Eyefinity are as follows:

1. DisplayPort / DVI / HDMI
2. DisplayPort / DVI / DVI
3. DisplayPort / HDMI / HDMI

I have tried connecting the dvi monitor via a dvi cable by its own and will just remain black apart from the start up screen. I have also tried connecting the VGA monitor to the dvi port via a VGA to dvi adapter this also resulted in the screen remaining black. So I'm guessing that the dvi is functional but isn't communicating with the pc (only on start up screen). The VGA port on the graphics card works fine and will show desktop (this is the only monitor that can be detected)
I have tried using control panel to detect it but it will only show the monitor connected via to the VGA port.
If the dvi monitor can show the start up screen then it must have some signal. It's only once it reaches past the ( login screen) that it goes black. (This is only if I have the monitor connected to dvi) if I have the monitor connected to VGA port also connected then it automatically starts up on that one and the dvi monitor will remain black.

Have you tried switching the monitor on and off. The graphics card should work fine and does support up to three monitors..

It is not working because one of the connections has to be through displayport.
