Hey all, having some trouble with the integrated HD graphics on a new build.

List of specs:
ASrock B85M-ITX
Pentium G3220
4GB DDR3
120GB SSD
1TB HDD
200W PSU that came with the case (should be fine for this build's purpose)

First of all, when I plug one monitor in via HDMI, Windows will only support a resolution of 800x600. Anything higher will result in a black screen until the "change resolution" dialog box times out and changes back to 800x600.

DVI, on the other hand, works like a charm. I can do 1080p (native resolution) without so much as a hiccup. When I try to plug in both monitors (one HDMI, one DVI), the DVI one works, but the HDMI one stays black and immediately enters power saving mode, causing the DVI monitor to flicker momentarily.

Only the DVI monitor is recognized by Windows; I don't get so much as a "found new hardware" notification for the HDMI one. Just blackness. At no point is it listed in the device manager - however, if I open up the "change resolution" dialog in Windows, THEN plug in the HDMI monitor, I can see a second monitor icon appear for a split second before disappearing.

Both monitors work fine together in the BIOS, no problems there.

I have the latest drivers installed for the motherboard as well as the CPU's onboard graphics. I also found an option in the BIOS to enable multiple displays - set it to enabled, made no difference. I tried contacting Intel, but the support guy just tried to get me to install some driver from Feb 2013 that wasn't even for the correct hardware. Tons of help.

If you guys have any insight, it'd be much appreciated. I have to hurry up and get this thing working. Thanks!

Hello... right click your desktop - Screen resolution - and set your multi displays to "Duplicate theses displays" Do they both display now?

Thanks for the reply. Windows doesn't recognize the monitor at all, so I don't even get the option to pick between extend & duplicate.

Hello... the monitor is a passive device... and no "Driver" is needed... BUT you can Install a *.INF type file to give your monitor a name and display information to Windows.
Some MB's don't support Dual monitor setups ( thru the CPU/GPU )... Check your MB specs/manual... in this case, you may need to add a LOW cost Video card ( or a HIgh end one)... to get a Dual monitor setup in Windows.

Update the video drivers on the system, also check for a BIOS update. Try a different HDMI cable, and maybe a different HDMI monitor. If those don't fix it, contact the vendor for support.

The motherboard supports multiple monitors, and it works as expected when in the BIOS (bolded just because I mentioned this in the OP and I don't want anyone else to miss it)

I'm using the latest [stable] drivers from the Intel site, as well as the latest BIOS revision. All other drivers are updated too, no warnings in device manager or anything. I know for a fact that the monitor works with that cable on my laptop - is there any reason a monitor and HDMI cable would work on one PC but not on another?

Hello... Did using the INTEL Display APP in your Control Panel give any options to enable it?

Nope, the second monitor is not detected anywhere in Windows and there is no option anywhere to enable it (apart from the option in the BIOS which I have enabled already)
