I am building a Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V server which will run about 4-5 Virtual Machines (DC Server, Database Server, DirectAccess Server, Remote Desktop Services Server, Linux Mint VM, Windows 8 VM, etc.)
Specs I would like to use is as follows:
Two (2) Intel E5-2670 v2 Processors
Motherboard requirements
Builtin IPMI
Up to 125Gb of RAM (or 384GB)
6 PCIe Slots
2 Quad Port Network Interface Cards (Intel I340-T4)
1 AMD FirePro™ S7000
1 Adaptec Raid Card
USB 3.0 & USB 2.0 ports
External eSATA port(s)
Redundant Power Supplies
Was also wondering if it would be ok to use a water cooled Corsair H80i with this setup, or should I be considering a traditional heat sink fan.
Budget is under $8,000.
