I can not find a solution. I'll be playing a game, Witcher 2 for example and the display driver will stop responding and recover according to a windows notification. The game might resume after or minimize or just go black depending on the game. It happens in most games ranging from Knights of the Old Republic to Skyrim. I've had this problem since I built my PC (6 months ago) . My best guess is there is something wrong with the motherboard PCI-E slot (I only have one). Also, Battlefield 4 and Garden Warfare are the only games that aren't affected by this issue.

This is a list of what I've tried:
1. All kinds of different drivers (clean, driver sweeper)
2. Fresh install of windows.
3. Ram test (ramtest86)
4. Switched ram slots
5. Upgrading GPU
6. Upgrading PSU
7. Temps are fine
8. MSI afterburner power % increase and decrease
9. TDR delay adjustments
10. Underclocking GPU (Crashes are too random to tell but this does seem to help a little.)
11. Underclocking CPU
12. Virus scans

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866

If its your display drivers crashing, then it's related to the amd graphics drivers. It's most likely something's wrong with the card itself from looking at your system. If underclocking the card helped, it's most likely unstable I'd imagine.

If the problem has persisted across multiple GPUs and multiple PSUs it makes me think its driver/software related. What is the exact model PSU you are using? You upgraded to a higher quality model from the original, or just replaced with another of same unit? Same question for GPU.

I upgraded my Power Color HD 7750 and shitty 350 watt power supply to an MSI R9 270 GAMING 2GB and XFX TS Series P1550SXXB9 The power supply meets AMD's requirements. I made sure.

EDIT: The longer I have my PC on the more frequent the crashes occur.

First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

I've done that on 5 different occasions in safe mode and not in safe mode. I've tried everything.
