Hey guys ive never set up my os because i bought my pc off a friend. I cant remember the current motherboard model but i have a i3 540 and a gtx 770 with 8gb ram and a 750w psu. I just got an i5 4690k and a GA-z97-D3h, and i dont know if its possible to take my old os off and put it onto the new set up, also i dont have any serial code for the old os. If you can help me out thanks :)

You cannot move the hard drive with windows from one computer to another. You would need to do a clean install. Also..the CD-Key for windows is tied to the motherboard so you'd need to re-activate windows no matter what you do when you swap. If you don't have the cd-key anymore...you're kinda of out of luck in terms of activation.
