Well, some people said my previous thread it's kind of useless, flaming a war between NVIDIA and AMD fanboys. So I create this one....

THE DEALS

1. This thread is PURELY for my research material, nothing else.

2. Just write your response like you're the only one answering me and Ignoring the response from the others like it never exist, don't even read it if its needed.

3. I'll send a PM if there's anything I'd like to ask.

4. After I get all of your response, I'll comparing it with my previous research and write the conclusion in my report.

5. Don't make it sounds like I want to build a PC by saying stuff like, "this is better, this will work just fine, you better get this one instead".
READ the first deal man!

That's the deal, and here's the other deal... lol

"Well, I've done a bunch of research about it through the internet, but I want to know about it directly from you guys since you guys are pros which have a better experience and knowledge about this stuff.

Between NVIDIA vs AMD in terms of performance, price, reliability, quality, issues that happen often, etc etc etc...

Just tell me what you guys think about both of this GPU manufacturer, you can make a judgement based on what you know, what you've heard, or maybe your experience when using it (make a comparison for a better understanding)."

Well I might sound like a big boss, I admit that I am a total noob, but I need to made it like this so I am not get reported lol

Thanks :) and Peace :D

historically nvidia fewer driver issues, more expensive for performance generally (possibly as a result of them being 'on top' in recent history). Amd cheaper for same performance, but have had driver issues, have had friends swearing at their amd cards more than nvidia friends.

State of manufacturers right now at this generation is that AMD is providing the best value, while NVidia is giving the best performance.

Regarding the failure rates - you are purely at mercy of the third party manufacturers (i.e. Gigabyte, Asus and so on) - all depends on components they are using and on how much they factory overclock their products.

In this generation custom cooled Radeon R9 290 is the best mix of excellent performance, sane price and good "package", while Nvidia's 780Ti is the best performer before the prices become really silly (after 780Ti you have prices skyrocketing to truly insane levels, the 780Ti itself is also pretty pricey).

My personal GPU history consists of:

Voodoo Rush - was shit
Voodoo 3 - was great
Sapphire Radeon 9500 PRO - was amazing
MSI GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB SLI - was great, but one of the cards failed after 2 years
MSI GeForce 280 (warranty replacement) - was OK, but failed after less than a year.
Sapphire Radeon HD 6990 - AMAZING card, still have it - worked for 2.5 years with 0 issues!
Sapphire Radeon R9 290X - Great, but not THAT much improvement over 6990, really.

So yeah, for me AMD seemed to provide some awesome results, while all my NVidia cards simply died for no reason at all (not overclocking and using them for general gaming only).

R9 290X is my first non-reference design card, all the rest were reference. Sapphire clearly proved themselves to me, MSI failed (thing gtx 280 failure was on Nvidia purely, it had a lot of known BSOD issues).

Most impressive card I ever owned was Radeon HD 6990, insane performance and future proofing, I am still a bit sad I decided to upgrade to 290x, could have used that 6990 until next gen really.

Yea I know, that I'm the wrong one creating a thread with such a offending title, so to avoid any issue I created this thread, with a better languange, even tough my question is still the same.
For other reason, it simply because I'm still not quite satisfied with those answer at the first thread..
Sorry for my mistakes.

Thanks for the reply, looks like that's the case which occurs a lot based on my previous research. But it doesn't mean that Nvidia never got any issues.
At least your response confirmed this. thanks...

Thanks for the reply, you seems had a lot of experience from both of this GPU manufacture, which helps me a lot, but at your case it looks like the issues happens at nvidia's side more often than amd's. Feel sorry for your cards tough... lol
Thanks

famously nvidia had a driver issue whereby the forced the fan to a very slow speed, hence causing cards to overheat.
