I have i5 2500k processor and MoBo is Gigabyte GA H61M-D2H [possibly Rev 1.0]. It uses DDR3 RAM and has 16GB capacity of 4x4 GB slots. Will Radeon HD 7770 or NVidia GT650 Ti work on it? Can a DDR5 compatible card like those work on my MoBo? Is my MoBo compatible with DDR5 RAM or GFX card? Do I need DDR5 RAM if it works? Currently I use NVidia GT 610 card on PCE v2.0
If the said proposed cards cannot work I am also open to using GT640 DDR3 card if it works. What would be the best card in between GT640 - GT650 range?

Yes, you will be fine. System RAM and the RAM on the graphics card works independently of each other.

DDR5 system RAM does not exist. DDR4 system RAM will come out later next year. No need to worry about DDR4 RAM because it will be incompatible with your motherboard.

You probably want to make sure your PSU can support the card, I don't see you mentioning it in the OP. The mobo will be compatible though for sure.

Hmm. There is a marginal price difference between 650Ti and 750Ti. So it makes sense to buy 750Ti. I hope it will work on my MoBo. Thanks.

Power supply I think 600 watts should be enough right? Will GTX 750Ti work?

Thanks for quick response guys. I am due for upgrade 3 years now. 750Ti seems overall faster but 650Ti runs shaders and texture mapping marginally faster. Tough call.

The GTX 750 Ti will run fine even on a good quality 300w PSU because it only uses 57w at peak power consumption.

The Radeon R7 250x is merely a rebranded Radeon HD 7770. The GTX 750 Ti can easily outperform it. Click link below for a review of the GTX 750 Ti along with over 12 game benchmarked. Note that the CPU is an Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.2 GHz. Below is also an overall performance chart against other GPUs.
