I bought myself a new cpu cooler the hyper 212 evo! works great and is so much better than my fx 8350 stock. However after it had been installed i launched up bf4 and suddenly was experiencing fps lag that i had never had before. I dont have a clue why this is happening. The only thing different i have noticed is that my ram instead of being 16gb says 8gb available and 8gb hardware reserved but surely this would not be causing my fps lag however i dont understand why thats happening anyway? can someone help me with both the fps lag and the ram and tell me if the ram thing is the cause?

Solution
Reseat your ram, and/ or check in MSconfig, under boot settings, if you have it set to use 8GB max.
Also, check your bios, or just clear your CMOS. (by removing the battery on the mobo for a bit, and placing it back in.) As far as overheating goes, this may not show in resource monitor.
Use temperature monitoring software, such as HWMonitor (FYI: That's a direct download)
Reseat the ram and cleanup "CAREFULLY" any mess you may have made with cpu thermal paste.

If that does not work try reapplying the thermal paste.

If the paste was applied incorrectly the cpu will overheat and downclock itself to prevent thermal damage.

Downclocking has the direct effect of giving terrible fps.

Edit: It's a great cooler. I have used it in the last 3 of my builds.
