I have a 212 and its not enough honestly. im at 4.1 on my FX 8320 at stock voltage and heat is already a limiting factor, using good AS5 grease well after the cure time. Wish i would have gotten a kraken x60 first time around. Also with that motherboard, M5A97 R2.0 (4+1 power phase) i could not get my FX 8320 to hold any sort of overclock at all really. Now using an M5A99FX Pro 2.0 (6+2 power phase) and its still getting too hot.

Do you have the stock fan/fans on it?

a 8320 should be able to get 4.2ghz on stock fan well mine did when it was stock, so you might something wrong with the way you seated your heatsink

ive reseated twice, im thinking the AS5 paste might have gone bad? it was 4 years old when i used it, i may have simply lost the silicon lottery..using a HYPER 212 EVO
