Ok when I am playing games my HP laptop get REALLY hot, I mean so hot that it hurts to touch the sides for ten seconds. I downloaded this Temperature reader and it said my laptop was reaching 102°C. Is it supposed to be going this high?? and is it damaging its performance??

The gear inside isn't so bad but the HP laptops aren't generally meant for gaming laptops :/
More like work and school laptops, they also have bad cooling system (generally all laptops have problems with cooling :) )
I'd suggest that you cool down on the games make a fresh install (if you want), take it to a service shop or open it up yourself and check if it smells burned somewhere :D, while you are there clean the coolers and heat sink and check if the thermal paste is dried out or need to be changed, that should probably help more or less, or as said take it to a service shop :)

It's definitevly not supposed to go that high! It could damage your inner hardware, burn it or even melt it! I suggest that you go a little less on the games :)
Btw what HP laptop are you using?

good news is damage from normal usage should be covered by warranty. but ok, if it works ok means nothing got damaged. either clean it yourself - but beware it's a bit more complicated compared to desktops - smaller pieces, need better thermal paste/cleaning etc or as i said above take it to a repair shop they would probably clean it for a bit of money and atleast you don't need to worry about breaking it...
