Hello,
I'm have to choose between Asus Z97 Sabertooth Mark 1
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z97_MARK_1/...
or Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=...
I'm looking for the most durable and easy to clean motherboard.
I don't care at all about aesthetics and don't plan to do any overclocking.
Their price are quite similar, so I don't base my choice on price.
I would only use 1 video card GTX 780, so no need for multi GPU capability

The Sabertooth's advantages are:
-User friendly BIOS
-Excellent Fan speed and temperature control

Main disadvantage:
-Hard to remove the dust that falls behind the thermal armor through the gaps around the slots, thus forming a pocket of dust

The Z97X-UD5H's advantage:
-easy to clean
-gold plated connectors

Main disadvantage:
-User unfriendly BIOS
-CPU's tendency to be overclocked by default
-doesn't offer sturdy backplate like the Sabertooth

Please give your suggestions
Thank you very much for your answers

Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK < Just finished my build with it a few days ago , unreal board thing of beauty.

You just press F2 and you get the normal BIOS.

Only is overclocked by default when Bios isn't updated to at least F5.

I use Big air so i had a great backplate to use.

you know back to what I said above them asus junk after I seen it was a wast of my time and money I got the giga 990fxud3 took the parts off the asus and slaped them on the ud3 fried it up and ran smooth and stable first boot -- 2 cards 3 sets of memory 2 harddrives nothing ever worked with asus but the parts went on the giga all good the outher parts went on this asrock -all good -- 0- issues my buddy got one right after I got my saber tooth and 2 weeks it went into the trash and all he ever built was asus and he went with giga and now he's all good his final words on asus was ''I guess its time to change brands''

as of right now asrock and gigabyte is al I see looking at - so far first boot stable is all I can ask and want

amd 990fx-- then I go look at the one your looking at and cant see it with all that silly dust collector shield stuff on it mine is hard enough to keep the dust off it with out a collector shield involved and blocking everything else on the board
newegg shows 2 of 10 dissatisfied in some way

just looking at all that makes the gigabyte more appealing its open so its easier to work on and look things over so far a better satisfaction rating

after my buddy and I with 5 failed asus boards its dang hard to look there way

but in the end YOU have to decide on what YOU want and go for it and hope it all works out with any brand you choose

I too think that the thermal shield will trap a lot of dust over time. A clean but primitive mobo is always better than a dirty well equipped mobo.
However, I'm surprised by all those Sabertooths breaking down. Asus is usually known for having good quality and one of the most popular brands for motherboards.
