Looking for a $400-$500 AMD FX 8350 build.
Doesn't need to have a video card but if it is possible, great!
Minimum of 8gb of ram.
Already have a 250gb HDD so a new one does not have to be added.
No OS needed.
Everything else is needed.

Solution

Yes it has 8 core but its as simple as it doesnt have any form of Intergrated graphics so even if it could handle it the CPU is not optimized for it in any way. GPUs are processors designed and optimized for that type of work. The 8350 simply isnt.

And again I ask. What do you plan on using the build for?

Have you considered AMD's APUs? Those chips have integrated graphics that can play even recent games... Though the settings may be low.
Graphical data is intensive. And the Fx 8350 just doesn't have the capabilities for that type of work. GPU's are Graphics processing units. CPUs are Central Processing units. For graphics, your going to need a GPU, or a CPU with integrated graphics.

The amd based pc i have right now has an old athlon cpu (not apu). It runs fine without a video card. I jist use my onboard graphics.

This build is for my ever lingering obsession with photoshop ad after effects. Some gaming will go on but not heavy tasks. I am using a laptop with an apu but it just isn't at my expectations. Also the APUs use the onboard ram aka DDR3 not DDR5. I will upgrade to a graphics card later but at the moment I just want something I can use out of the box maybe handle two screens and not very demanding tasks.
