After installing a new SSD I get this error:
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
3. Click "Repair your computer."

My laptop came with Windows 7 installed but no CD. So I need to get a copy of it somewhere and put it on a CD so I can install it on the new SSD. How do I go about doing that? And can anyone explain to me these steps in the error message. Why does it say I will have to click "repair your computer"?

I don't have any product key for the windows 7. I just got my laptop yesterday and it has a legit OS, is it perhaps possible to get it through the serial number of my laptop?

You're saying that your laptop came with preinstalled Windows. Do you have the hard drive Windows was installed on?
If so - boot with the original hard drive, and look around for manufacturer' utility to create recovery media. As a final resort, call manufacturer' support, and ask for recovery media (they usually charge nominal charge like $25-30).

But in any case, you will need the product key from COA label.
