Heys guys! Lately I've been thinking if building a gamung pc for myself, and I have made myself knowledgeable about almost everything excdpt hard drives, which I still do nkt grasp fully. What I want to do is to have an ssd containing Windows and possibly other files that I need to boot quickly. Additionally I will also have a 2-3 tb hdd to be used for general mass storage. The thing is though, I've been gaming on a laptop for the past 5 years, and so I am left with some questions about using a dual hard drive set up. First of all, I know this may be ridiculously easy for some of you, but I'm not sure where it is that the desktop connects to. Like say for instance if I store a photo in the desktop, it is contained within the desktop folder. However, is that desktop folder contained within the OS? If I was to put something on the desktop and my OS was installed on the ssd, would that thing now be in the ssd? As for my other question, I need help figuring out how to store things in the drive I want them in. If I wanted to put a collectiob of photos on my hdd and a game on my ssd where would I go to access each drive so that I could move the files there? (I'm guessing its the my computer menu) Is there any easier way to specify where I want a file to go?

Anyways thank you so much if you can help this noob out :p
It means a lot.

Solution
Well for example, you change the drive and folder letter anything is saved to.
Create a folder for example in your storage drive for pictures.

Now click on your C drive in my computer.
Click on users.
Then click on your name or the account login name.
In there you see all of the folders like my music, my pictures.
Right click on each.
Then click on the location tab.

Change the drive letter and folder name.

Eg D:\pictures
And so on for music, ect ect.

Any file or picture downloaded or transferred from a device will automatically be put on the D: drive in the named folder.
