Hello Tech Gods,

Long time reader first time poster here. I want to build a pc that will be good for downloading and watching HD movies, as well as capable do doing some above average gaming. I can get an operating system on my own so that's not included neither is the ODD.

Below you will find my general direction, but I'm open to all suggestions, I just don't want to go much higher than 800. This doesn't have to be the greatest gaming pc of all time (given my budget and desire for small size) I just want the best pc for my money with the upgrade option (any money saved is appreciated as well).

Looking forward to your wisdom!

Oh and I'm in Canada, eh

EDIT
I also added a second list given my suggestion. If I could have some opinions/ insight on my graphics card that would be appreciated.

Solution
I cant fault your logic or part selection

Possibly the Haswell refresh processors and an H97 motherboard , but that would be optional .
Possibly a case like the Silverstone GD 05
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/silverstone-case-sstgd05busb30
and a m-ATX motherboard
because that would give you some expansion options .
Maybe someday you will want to add a tuner card , for instance

Make sure the OS is 64 bit , and since regular versions of 8 dont include media center then Win 7 makes sense

Thank you for your answer first of all ! I am new to the hardware world so excuse my ignorance. What would be the benefit of switching to the haswell refresh processor, and the h97 Mother board over my selections? How much more of a favour would I be doing to my self by going with an m-atx over mini itx?

Thank you for taking the time to respond good sir.
