Here's my unfinished build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/D3HTpg.

I was wondering if it's better to have both MSI motherboard and video card or if i should go with the Asrock motherboard and change the video card to a palit geforce 760 4gb one since i think it's almost the same price as the MSI 2gb one.

Also, if you have other inputs please help :)

thanks!

Solution
You could spend a little less on HDD and RAM to get something like a AMD R9 280X which would be better but i don't know if you have any preferences :
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($232.98 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($35.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($62.00 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($83.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($88.97 @ OutletPC)
Video Card:...

Also, 1080P gaming uses something like 1.3 GB of VRAM so there is no use in getting 4GB on a GPU unless you want to play games in 1440P or 4K but you would need a better GPU in that case.

I'm actually kind of a newbie. this is my first time building a pc so im not sure which parts are better. This build is just what my friend told me. Thanks for the inputs.

I would like to build a gaming pc.

I was just wondering what the difference is between the motherboard Z97 gaming 3 and Z97-G55 SLI and also for the different RAM suggested

Thank you

Ram quality will affect your ability to overclock your system. Cheap Ram will not affect gaming performance (at least, you won,t notice difference).

quality motherboard will support dual and triple video card better and will be more stable for overclocking.

But here is a fact : you will get better performance in investing in a better GPU than in investing in high-end motherboard and ram.
