Hm. Have you tried one of these? The top 2 results are minecraftforums and tomshardware, so look at some of those forums and see if anyone else has fixes for you.

Unparked quad cpu, optifine, clicked and checked all setting, with and without optifine, full screen-small screen. Etc. Set minecraft to high priority, the thing is I can play BF3 with 20-50 fps on med-high :/

I recommend having 1 GB or 2 GB allocated.

No that is WAY too much for minecraft and will slow down the computer. Allocate 1gb MAX.

He did say he can run BF3. I know minecraft is more CPU intensive, but I imagine if he can run BF3 he can run MC.

Ehh, Java is VERY single core intense and BF3 doesn't case about core strength, it just want 4 of them.

With my gtx660ti SLI I would max BF4 with an old Phenom 2 x4 965 BE, but could barely lock 60fps in minecraft.

In reality, paired with OP's hd7770, a $60 Pentium dual core CPU will be 10x as powerful for minecraft as his CPU is currently, but the Pentium would probably only run BF3 about the same.
