Should I get z97 pro or hero for gaming

Solution
Well if looking for alternatives.....

1. The MSI GD97 is $40 cheaper than the Hero, matches it top to bottom on components and features.

2. If ya heard MSI makes junk, look up the MoBo return rates on behardware; pretty close but MSI is lower than Asus.

3. Newegg gives ya back $30 if ya buy a 4790k or 4690k with it, for a total savings if $70.

4. The Asus Z87 BIOS Clock Freeze issue is affecting Z97 users as well....2 posts on RoG Forums and 1 under newegg reviews for the Hero. See 1st post below.

Solution
Given that all Asus boards are affected by the BIOS Clock Freeze bug, unless ya can wait until a fix is released, I'd say neither. If you or not going to perform any of the know triggers, most associated with overclocking, or don't care if your system date resets every time you boot the machine, or don't mind repeating the temporary fix noted in the thread each time it happens, then I'd get the Z97-Pro. The Hero would be a great board but to my mind, the $40 premium for the RoG logo is unjustified.
