Corsair or EVGA psu?

Looking for a PSU which will most likely be used for gaming and I've narrowed it down to the Corsair CX430w v2 and the EVGA 500b 500w. They're both the same price.

  3. Thanks! There are two versions of the 500w EVGA PSU, one is £30 and the other is £37. Does anyone know what's different because the specs look identical and none of them are modular.
  4. They're probably just from different companies or something.

    R9 270X requires 24 Amps on the 12v rail, a 500W PSU minimum & 2x 6-pin PCIE

    CX 430W V2 has 28 amps on the 12v rail + 1x 6-pin PCIE.

    EVGA 500B has 40amps on the 12v rail + 2x 6-pin PCIE.

The 500B is better suited to the R9 270X.
  6. Get the EVGA 500B here's a nice review from jonnyguru on it.
