I recently built a new computer and have been playing games just fine for about two weeks now. Today however, upon booting up Assassin's Creed Revelations(baby stuff for my computer) my computer crashed. It has never done this before and I have no idea what to do. I'm afraid it is my GPU at fault but I'm not sure because I have been running games perfectly well. (Dirt 3 on Ultra holds about 70+ fps) After this I tried other games, all of which crashed after a few mins of booting up. ACR crashes within 45 sec of starting the game, War Thunder crashed at sign-in and Portal 2 let me play successfully for over half an hour. It is not a heating issue, as I have 3 fans in my case, and it is not a powersupply issue either as I'm running a 347 watt system on a 500 watt PSU.
Here is my build
AMD FX-6300 3.5 ghz 6-core processor
Radeon R9 270x 2GB
1 TB HDD
6GB RAM
Really don't want to have to return return my GPU so any other solutions would be appreciated.
