Hi, thank you in advance for taking the time to read!

Computer specs:
Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
Amd Fx-8350 (stock cooling & no oc)
G.Skill Ripjaws x 1600mhz 8gb x 1
Asus gtx 550ti
Evga 80plus 600w
Tt commander ms-1

Ok, so far the computer has been all right, tamperatures on idle are between 12 and 30 celcius and under heavy load they are lke this:

Cpu: 62 celcius
Mobo: 42 celcius
NB: 65 celcius

Tomorrow i`ll buy a Coolermaster x6 elite to finish the build properly and run at good temps.

Now, the problem:

1- when i turn the computer on i have a double boot, my computer is not oc`ed and the ram is running at 1600mhz, it seems to be when the computer has been used and or have some heat because if i turn it off for about 2 hours and then turn it on it appears to boot normaly.

2- when i turn off the computer from windows, it turns off, and after around 5 seconds it turns on itself, i really dont know what can be causing this.

i`ve ran the computer 15 minutes in system stability test in aida64, prime 95 torture testing and rendering in 3D max with mental ray. computer seems to be stable, no crashes or hangs.

I`m out of ideas, can anyone help me please?

thank you a lot!

What temps are on 12C? When? How measured?

Your cpu is getting way too hot. It should be under 35C on idle and 50C gaming.

What cpu cooler have you got?

Blow the case out - especially fans, filters and coolers.

Re-seat your cpu cooler. If temps still too high, get a better cooler.

Why have you only got one stick of ram? You should have 2.

Change settings in bios - F8 safe mode so pc doesn't restart automatically on shutdown

Bump up the cpu fan speed.

The temps where measured with aida 64 and on idle are around:

Mobo: 33c
Processor: 15c-40c
NB: 33c
Gpu: 30c

stock fans and cooler, i`ll get a coolermaster x6 elite tomorrow, the processor was assembled with artic silver 5 thermal paste.

Computer is 2 days old so everything is clean and clear :)

i got just one stick because i plan to get 16gb or more, just didnt had enough money to buy all at once

what settings on bios? and i didnt understand the f8 safe mode thing, thanks for your time!

OK - looks like your pc is running OK hardware wise.

Restart the pc holding down the F8 key. It should put you into these options - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/advanced-sta...

Choose - Disable automatic restart on failure.

You can also try a Repair Your Computer

and if that fails try a Last known good configuration

None of the options worked, system still restarts instead of shutting off, i`ve noticed tho, that if the temps are high i get the double boot, i`ll update the status about it with the cooler master x6 elite tomorrow as it should run cooler, thank you!

Now i installed the coolermaster x6 elite cooler and seems like the double booting has ceased, altrought the restarting when i power off the pc stills there :(

i`ll install win 8.1 back and keep trying possible solutions, any advice?

Try a bios reset or cmos reset.

Put your OS drive in another pc as non OS drive and do a checkdisk/repair on it and a virus scan.

reseted cmos first, nothing, reinstalled current bios (F1) and the problem still persist, about virus i seriously doubt it, i just installed windows and i have 2 computers who shares pendrives and hdds so the other one should have issues aswell.

everything in this setup is bought new 2 days ago.

update:
when i updated/reinstalled the bios there was 2 options, restart and shutdown, pressed shutdown and the computer stayed off so i assume is a software problem, now where.... damn! :??:

Fitted the new cooler?

So if its just shutting down instead of rebooting, does it load windows first? Any error messages?

Remove your drives and see if it posts OK. If not what error codes (beeps) are you getting?

Go through Tom's checklist - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-ste...

Yeah, new cooler is awesome, averything at full load under 50celcius.

The computer stills restarts itself after i shut it down :(
i`ll check that list and report back! thank you!

edit:
the computer doesnt restarts itself and or crashes.

what it does is that, when i turn it off, from windows, it shuts down, and after around 5 seconds it turns itself on again.

from all that list the only thing i havent done is placing the standoffs, altrought my case just had 2 of them bundled?

after some research i found that the case has built in standoffs.
