Hi All,

I have a old comp.
Specs are core 2 duo e7500 , 2 gb ddr2 667mhz , corsair VS 450w psu(1 day old) and 1tb seagate hard disk (1 day old) ,
nvidia 9500gt ddr2 graphic card.

I want to update my graphic card to AMD R7 240 which is PCI 3.0 compliant
My mobo is Gigabyte GA-G31M ES2L version 1.0 (Ancient i know) which supports pci 1.0

Does my Mobo supports pci 3.0 cards?
so is it worth upgrading my graphic card and what kind of bottleneck i will be facing?

Thanks in Advance

Its not THAT old and most likely it will work.
Usually the problem boards were the 9xx series chipset
while the G31 and G41 usually work

There should be very little bottlenecking. The limiting factor being the CPU and GPU will depend on the game
and the settings but they are fairly well matched. If you could afford it I think you could even go for the R7-250

I still use a Core 2 Duo E6700 myself until I can get a newer socket system so I know what its like
