Will a fan adapter still work with my fan?

I want to use this fan adapter (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812493029) with this fan (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=35-181-020) the fans come with a lower voltage attachment to run quieter. I want to know if that attachment will work with this adapter.
Also note that the adapter to connect it to the psu is 12 volts.
Thanks!

My bad, dude - when I clicked the first link, this is what my iPad pulled up: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812493034
And your second link is to a 120mm fan.

Yes, the 12V adapter will work fine, as will the step-down adapters. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

You haven't mentioned using any fan cable splitters, but if you do make sure that any step-downs are between the fan and splitter as they're only designed to step-down a single fan.
The Corsair AF120 Quiets operate from 7V-12V - if you use the Bitfenix adapter, which is a 7V adapter, then add in the step-down adapter that comes with the fan, it's going to take it below the minimum voltage. Additionally, the way the Bitfenix adapter works is by connecting the 12V power line to the 5V instead of to a ground - this works (it's called the "7V trick", but if you don't have a high-quality PSU, it may sense this as a fault and shut down.

There are a couple of options that would probably work better, depending on what motherboard you have and where you're planning to use these fans in your case (exhaust, intake, both):
1. Skip the adapters completely, and hook the fans directly to your mobo. Use voltage control either through BIOS or fan control software to control the speed.
2. Use just the Bitfenix adapter to run the fans at their lowest speed. This will work best for exhaust fans.
3. Use an aftermarket fan controller.
4. Use larger fans (140mm) with any of the control options listed above - you can run larger fans slower for the same airflow and lower noise levels.

I could keep going for a while. Let us know what your build is and what exactly you're trying to accomplish and we can give you more specific recommendations.

Well my mobo is the problem here. It only has 1 3 pin fan connector and one 4 pin (which is hidden behind my my dual slot graphics card). I have a seasonic 620w bronze power supply so i think it is decent quality. I'm using the corsair 540 case so If i get a fan controller it would be sideways. Are you saying that the bitfenix adapter is 7v? Could you expain more? I'm purchasing this case in a day or two and I need a solution to this fan problem Immediately.

I'm using the fans that come with the case (140mm) but they are modeled off of the airflow fans and My only option is to somehow connect fans to the power supply. My motherboard is the ASRock H81M-HDS

Thanks haha I was confused when you said 7V. So each fan comes with a step down cable, and the bitfenix adapter has 3 3pins and a molex. So each 3 pin on the bitfenix adapter can have the step-down leading to one fan correct? (i'm buying the normal corsair fans with color rings and step-down adapters separate and I just wanted to know they will work).

Ok thanks. I was thinking the same thing. I will look into that after I get the case and some more money lol.
