downloaded sims 2 double deluxe onto my ACER ASPIRE ONE with Windows 8 HELP!!!

So I downloaded the game as soon as I heard about the freeness of it all and after a day of downloading it will not work. I have heard that you can't play these games on a netbook but the game works it just glitches in the Create-A-Family mode. What do I do? I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook with Windows 8. PLEASE HELP!

Unfortunately, I have read that the Sims 2 and Windows 8 have some compatibility issues and EA no longer supports that game which was released back in 2004.

The Acer Aspire One netbook is pretty weak compared to the typical laptop, but assuming it is the most current model it should (just an opinion) be able to play the Sims 2.

The best thing to do is to Google around for a forum devoted to the Sims and ask if there are ways to run the Sims 2 in Windows 8.
