Hello everyone,
I'm in need of a new processor. I will most likely use it for everyday use (office, gaming etc.) plus for some scientific stuff I can't run on our cluster.
Now I've been investigating a bit and found the said Xeon to be the best match for my needs.
The 4790k and 4770k are significantly more expensive and if I got it right then non-K model wouldn't be a big difference to the xeon. As far as overclocking goes, I'm not really too interested in it anymore, now where you need to buy special - more expensive - hardware for it, kinda nullifies the effect IMHO.
So my question, am I forgetting something here?
