It worked when I tried one ram stick.. Then I plugged in my older pc to copy some files on USB before getting rid of it. As I was re plugging in the new pc which I just built, I decided to just stick in the other ram stick and hope it works, if not.. I'll just use one ram stick for the time being.. So I did that and it didn't work, and now the monitor even displays no signal with just one ram stick. It's definitely a ram problem and not another component problem since the pc already booted right? Any suggestions, is it possible to maybe have fried the ram since I accidentally added/removed stick without remove the power plug(had the power switch off tho).. So confused

I figured, just to make sure, you are using the outputs on the graphics card right?

(Ruling out stupid things first, sorry if it seems stupid or annoying.)

I would honestly pull everything out and sit with just the RAM, CPU, and Motherboard to test it without too many variables. then, Add each part that you've got one by one until you'vffe got your system rebuilt. It's tedious, but method of elimination could point towards wheather it's truely the ram or not a different problem.

I would suggest to let the board fully power down before you remove any component in the future. Safety First and all that jazz.

As for your Problem does the computer start like it should with just one stick of ram? (ignoring the fact that the screen says 'no signal' please.)

If not, then I would make sure that you unplug and let everything power down, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and see if just letting things settle couldn't possible help.
If your computer boots, but there's nothing on the screen another stupid questions would be 'did you plug it in?' it being the screen.

If it does boot then I'm not sure, do you have a GPU or are you using the intergrated Graphcis avalible on your board?

Also, do you hear anysort of sounds such as a single beep or a series of beeps when you boot your comptuer?

Was is the wrong type of ram like ddr2 vs ddr3. This could have caused an incompatibility. Like stated turn off the computer at the wall and wait 20 minutes. Make sure the power supply is unplugged. Then after twenty minutes turn on the computer, and check to make everything is seated beforehand.

IF all the fans spin up the power supply is good, if the lights on the motherboard turn on it is probably good. The only defect is probably the ram. Put the new ram in first, and check the markings on the old. What ddr is it.

Hi guys thanks very much for your input, means a lot to me. But unfortunately it's still not working(hours later), it's frustrating me because I had the same ram set up and it worked in the morning, it all went down hill when I put in both ram sticks. And yes the monitor is well plugged, as well as all the system components (lights turn on, fans spin etc) it boots hut the monitor doesn't want to respond. As for the graphics card.. I'm working with the gtx 660
