Hard drive became very slow

I took out my hard drive, unplugged the sata cable and power in order to install my new fan controller, and after I've plugged it in my pc became very slow, its barely loads up the windows when i turn it on...

maybe I damaged the hard drive or something?

What make and model?

How many rpm is it running at?

Try testing it with PCMark Vantage or PCMark 7 and comparing it against spec.

I checked with PCMARK7 but it doesn't show how much RPM the HDD running at..

May be your CPU throttling down from heat. Your fan controller may have made fans run slower, causing poor ventilation and heat build up.

I forgot about this thread... anyway it didn't become better... the hard drive is still very slow..
you can look at the speeds from Crystal Mark here:

it should be at least 150-200Mb/s on the Seq test.. its barely 50..

Is your sata running at sataIII? Check bios settings

Try PCMark.

Other than CystalMark, anything else saying it's running slow?
