So i recently bought a Asus R9 270 2gb pre-overclocked at 975mhz.The rest of my budget PC consists of Intel i3 3220,8gb RAM,550 Watt cheap PSU with 32amp on the 12v rail and 70%efficiency.I installed the latest drivers from Asus's site.

I ve already played for some hours AC4 black flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist on ultra or almost ultra settings without any problems and with a nice FPS count.I even tested the card with Furmark for 15 mins at 1080p with no problems and a 82 C max temperature and 63 average FPS.

Yesterday i bought BF4 and started playing on ultra settings with very nice quality.Today after about 3 hours of playing, the game crashed(while loading map) with my TV diplaying the "no signal" message. The only way out was a manual shutdown.

BUT HERE's THE STRANGE PART.After booting my pc again i would get no signal from the gpu while windows were loading normally because i could hear them.(audio from mobo not Gpu hdmi or anything).

This happened 3-4 times. So i unplugged the GPU from the mobo plugged it in again and the signal came back.WIndows though started the auto repair utility which found no problems...

Everything works fine now but i dont want to launch BF4 without knowing how to prevent this from happening again..WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED? :??:

No,absolutely nothing!Just black screen and no signal! But that didnt bother me initialy because i ve heard BF4 is unstable...but not getting a signal when rebooting? And solving it by doing in fact nothing?Unplugging and re-plugging the card?

Yeah, that sounds odd...

This is just a theory, but it's possible that the self-resetting fuse of the other 12V rail in your PSU went off. It usually takes a certain time to reset, so it's possible that reseating the GPU gave it enough time to reset.

As there are no messages, it's hard to say what caused it; The easiest way would be changing your components one by one (borrow them from a friend or a family member) and see if you get a second crash. I suggest starting with the PSU.
