CM 212 Evo able to reposition vertically after installed?

Hi guys, I want to add more ram to my computer for video editing but didn't think things through when installing the cpu cooler. The cooler as of right now is positioned horizontally (flat) and it doesn't leave space to add extra memory. Please see the current position below.

I was just wondering If I can still remove the cpu cooler and reposition it it vertically without harming or damaging the components whatsoever?

yep. in fact that "vertical" (actually it's called horizontal because that's the direction the air flows) positioning is the "right" way to install it.

It should be facing the rear exhaust fan.

As they said, it should be facing the rear exhaust. If you decide to put a fan on the memory side, you can always slide the fan up to make more room underneath it.

It will work just as good in a pull configuration if you want to move the fan to the other side near the rear exhaust.

Thanks for the response everyone! Yeah I don't know for the life of me had it in that configuration. I switched it, so now the cpu fan is moving to the rear of the tower and to the top where 2 fans were already in placed.

Great, did you also replace your thermal paste? It is best practice to reapply thermal paste every time that you need to remove the heatsink.
