All games lagging all of sudden?

Around 3 or 4 days ago everything worked perfectly. I was able to run Mass Effect 3, BF3, etc...flawlessly on the highest graphic settings. Well every game on the highest setting. But now every game I have works fine for a few minutes then will have these random lag/stuttering spikes out of nowhere a few minutes into playing. Then goes back to playing well, few minutes later it happens again and again. I blew the fans out, but to no avail. This laptop of mine(Alienware M18xR2) always had some overheating problems. Would that be the cause again?

Specs from Dxdiag txt:

GeForce GTX 675M

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.140330-1035)
System Manufacturer: Alienware
System Model: M18xR2
BIOS: A11
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3740QM CPU @ 2.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz

Memory: 32768MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 32716MB RAM
Page File: 4570MB used, 30192MB available
Windows Dir: C:\windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

In the photo are the temps and such. The max temp was the highest it got while gaming and the value on the left is how it runs idle. Between 50c and 65c on the geforce tab.

That 96C max GPU temp is jumping out at me as a concern, those CPU temps don't look great either. I can't see the exact GPU model in your post, but I suspect you are getting very close to its thermal limit.

Someone may be able to direct you to a guide for cleaning out a laptop/purchasing a laptop cooler. But it certainly looks like a thermal issue.

I've been wanting to get a laptop cooler, but didn't know which one to get. So the thermal issue can be fixed with a laptop cooler then?

Updated with the graphics card type.

I am absolutely not claiming that your problems will all be fixed by getting a laptop cooler (personally I think they are useless, but YMMV).

A through cleaning and reapplication of thermal paste seem like much more promising options. But I've never tried doing anything like that. If your laptop manufacturer gives you instructions on how to do that (I imagine you aren't the first person who wants to clean their gaming laptop?), otherwise a professional sounds reasonable; no idea what that would cost, or how to assure they are trustworthy. One of the many reasons I am not a fan of gaming oriented laptops. Best of luck !

Not that it makes a difference, but I just noticed that with BF3 and State of Decay the temps reach 96c and the game stutters. But with Dead Space and Left 4 Dead 2 the temps only reach 72c and the game runs perfect. So why is it only certain games that jump to 90+ and others in the 70's without a problem?

some games are more cpu intensive, and your fan can handle the heat

two things you should do:

1. Clean all that dust out(By yourself or repair shop)
2. Reapply thermal paste(Hard to do by yourself, go to repair shop.
