So I've tried everything i know. Fiance got a computer given to her, decent older one
Quad core
4gb ram
9400 gt
1000 Watt psu
older asus motherboard

I wanted to swap out the 9400 gt for my old gtx 275 coop but i could not get it to display anything. boot up is there and everything, single beep noise when booting up. I put the old 9400 gt and it displays fine. Thought it was the 275 then but put it into my system and it boots up fine. No idea what it is, power light on the 275 comes on fine, no blinking to indicate power failure or anything. any suggestions guys?

Assuming the motherboard bios are up to date and the PSU is strong enough it should work..

Probably a dumb question but have you connected the external power connectors to the card?

Yes, I'll check the bios to see if has ever been updated

What I believe is that since its an older bios, it's reading the 250 in the 275 and tries to put video through that gpu, but since there's no video output for the 250, no video comes out. That's my guess

wasnt there a gtx 275 that came bundled with a gts250 as an onboard dedicated physx card? yeah, seems like your bios needs a flash
